The Pens Sign Philippe Dupuis

Pascal Dupuis was probably happy that he didn't have to give his number up for Zach Parise. Now he's going to have to give his name up instead.

There are now two players named "P. Dupuis" in the Pittsburgh Penguins organization. The Pens have signed forward Philippe Dupuis. He was with the Toronto Maple Leafs/Marlies last season.

From the Penguins website:

The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed forward Philippe Dupuis to a one-year contract, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero. Dupuis’ contract is a two-way deal worth $600,000 at the NHL level.

If Philippe makes the NHL team, it will be interesting to see what they write on the back of his and Pascal's jerseys.

And, for the record, they're not related.
