Surviving the next month as a fan

It happens to the best of us somewhere in the course of an 82-game NHL season, where we just can't get up for some of these Pens games.  We've all been there.  Some of us may be there right now.  Some of us may have already gone through the phase this season.  There's nothing pretty about it.  But don't be ashamed.  We're all in this together.  It only seems worse this season because of Crosby and Malkin's injuries.

If you're feeling the fatigue, take a game or two off.  Don't go through the normal ritual on a Pens gameday.  Change shit up.  Surprise the missus with a dinner at Willow and a bracelet from Jared's.  Then, after some sex, sneak downstairs, make a ham sandwich, and watch the highlights.

From now until the trading deadline, maybe take a game off to remember what you're fighting for.  You don't have to force yourself to watch a home game against the Islanders.  It's February.  This is allowed.  This happens every season.  When the trade rumors pick up here in the next two weeks, it'll be like a sweet siren's song, except the sirens aren't gonna sink your boat when you pull up Eklund's website.

However, if you're not ready for this first game after the All Star break heading into MSG, you're an idiot.  Go Pens.
