Looking Ahead: 2011 NHL Entry Draft

Elias Sports Bureau says that 99.7% of NHL teams that have started the season 1-3 have missed the playoffs and given their fans little or no reason to follow the club after the 1-3 start.  These are staggering numbers.

With that being said, it's time to look at the 2011 Entry Draft.

Sean Couturier

People are saying the Pens should take Couturier with the first overall pick in the 2011 draft.
These people are idiots.  Are they even thinking?
Couturier is a center.  Like the Pens need another center.  Dumb.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
Again, a center.  Again, don't be stupid.

After filtering through the rest of the draft class, we come to Brandon Saad.
He's an American winger scoring big goals in the OHL.
Better yet: He's a local boy, from Pine-Richland.
He is exactly what the Pens need to return to the playoffs.
