Link City, controversy in New York

Williams and McDonald sent back to WBS. [Pens]  Still no idea why Williams was in the shootout.

Controversy last night at the end of the Rangers/Devils game.  Marian Gaborik was called for goaltender interference with a few seconds left after the Rangers had appeared to tie the game.  Here is video:

More about this after the jump[Puck Daddy]  wrote an article about how coaches challenges should be used in a situation like this.  There is some grey area with the rule and that ultimately gives the referee the most decision making power, which it should.  Having someone in Toronto verify the call could be a good idea but I think having challenges could create more issues, especially the way it's proposed here.

Subscribe to Puck Drunk Love [NHL] will officially announce tomorrow that the Winter Classic will be held at Michigan Stadium next year with the Red Wings hosting the Maple Leafs. [Blue Jackets] took care of important business and made sure they extended Vinny Prospal. Red Wings might be a big player at the deadline, Nash could be on the block, and the Blackhawks need a goalie.  [Deadline Diner] Frans Nielsen [re-signed] with the Islanders for 4 more years. Ruff won't be behind the bench for the Sabres tonight.  Assistant coach James Patrick will fill in. [PHT] lot of discussion lately on where the Coyotes should go next year if they move.  Here is a case for [Quebec].  What is becoming clear is that there is no Winnipeg this year, but Quebec might be the most prepared for a new NHL team.  I'd like to see the Nordiques back, but hopefully not in these uniforms's [schedule]  Two games on NBCSP.  Buffalo vs. Boston, 7:30 p.m. then San Jose vs. Calgary, 10:00 p.m.
