Pens made some cuts on Thursday. [ Penguins ]

Joining Wilkes-Barre/Scranton are forwards Jesse Boulerice, Chris Collins, Joey Haddad, Nick Petersen, Ryan Schnell, Zack Sill, Alex Smigelski, Keven Veilleux and Geoff Walker, defensemen Jason DeSantis, Derek Peltier and Carl Sneep and goaltender Patrick Killeen.

Forward Tyler Brown (Plymouth, Ontario Hockey League) and goaltender Alex Pechurskiy (Tri-City, Western Hockey League) were returned to their respective junior teams.

Let's put it this way: If Keven Veilleux had to skate to Wilkes-Barre, it would take him 5 years.

The Pens are pumped about it. [ Penguins ]

“I think this is going to be good for hockey,” Asham said. “It’s going to give us a little more exposure. I think between last year’s Winter Olympics and the Winter Classics every year, they have been great for the game, but this is going to help all of us even more.”

Tons of good info on this.
Bettman isn't trying to make this A.O. vs. Bing. [ Puck Daddy ]
Good video of A.O. being a dick at that link.

Aww, he calls him Sid.  The Olympics brought them closer.

The Mule wasn't happy, either:

“Yeah,” he said. “It was terrible, stupidest play I’ve ever seen. … He lifted his foot up and put his knee inside of my leg.” And yes, Franzen thinks it deserves a suspension, even though he didn’t think Orpik was targeting his bad knee.

Kronwall was too busy headhunting to comment on this story.
