Nashville Predators (42-23-8) @ Pittsburgh Penguins (45-21-6)
TV: ROOT, NHLN-US, FS-TN
Consol Energy Center – Pittsburgh, PA
Winger/turncoat Alexander Radulov is returning to the Predators tonight and everyone is all excited. NHL.com has a video calling this game a possible Stanley Cup preview.
We fully expect Radulov to jump back on a plane to the KHL if the Predators lose tonight's game. He might leave as soon as the Pens score, so he won't have to deal with that whole "going through adversity with your team" thing that we know he dislikes so very much.
Steve Sullivan used to be a Predator. Hal Gill used to be a Penguin. Marc-Andre Fleury and Pekka Rinne both have 39 wins this season, which is the most in the NHL. How many times do you think you'll hear those three pieces of information tonight?
Season Series: 0-0-0
Last Meeting That Counted: October 21, 2010. Penguins won 4-3 [OT]
What we said in our recap:
Nothing better than an OT win on the road, no matter what the record, month, etc. Conceding a point to a Western Conference team means nothing. Puts a hop in your step knowing some Nashville fan was pissed off on his way home last night.

What they're saying:
I can't help but think of tonight's matchup between the Predators and Penguins (6:00 p.m. Central on FS-TN, and NHL Network nationally) as a genuine heavyweight battle, a tune-up for the playoffs featuring two teams with extremely high expectations. The hottest team in the league, which looks even stronger now that Sidney Crosby is back on the ice, hosts a Nashville squad which has loaded up as never before to make a run at the Stanley Cup.
