Gameday 66 – Maple Leafs

Toronto Maple Leafs (30-29-7) @ Pittsburgh Penguins (39-21-5)

7:30 pm/et

TV: NBCSN, TSN, RDSI

Consol Energy Center – Pittsburgh, PA

It's fitting that tonight is game #66 for the Pens. And that it's against the Leafs.

Season Series: 1-2-0

Last meeting that counted: February 1, 2012. Penguins lost 1-0.

What we said in our recap:

Guaranteed if you know a guy named Clarke, he's an asshole. He probably borrows money and doesn't pay you back. He probably doesn't turn off his high beams when he sees you approaching from the other direction. Clarke MacArthur is no different probably. MacArthur scored the game-winner and only goal of the game right after James Neal deflected a puck off the crossbar.

What they're saying:

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Joffrey Lupul will miss three-to-four weeks after suffering a separated shoulder, the team announced on Wednesday afternoon. The injury occurred during the second period of Tuesday night's game against the Boston Bruins.

To replace Lupul in the lineup, the Leafs have called up Carter Ashton from the AHL's Toronto Marlies. Ashton, 20, was acquired by the Leafs at the Feb. 27 trade deadline in a deal with the Tampa Bay Lightning. He's yet to play an NHL game, but he has 37 points in 59 games with both the Marlies and the Norfolk Admirals in the AHL this season. He'll be ready to go in case Mike Brown is unable to draw into the lineup.

Pittsburgh Penguins Notes:

The Penguins are riding a six-game winning streak.

Brad Thiessen will be in net.

Can Toronto contain Evgeni Malkin?

Toronto Maple Leafs Notes:

The Leafs are 2-7-1 in their last ten.

Joffrey Lupul is out for three-to-four weeks.

Mikhail Grabovski has a new contract.
