Gameday 65 – Maple Leafs

7:00 pm
Air Canada Centre
TV: FSN/Versus/TSN
The last game against the Leafs was a crazy, back-and-forth rollercoaster of a hockey game.  It's entirely possible that tonight's game will be the same thing.  The Leafs are six points out of the playoffs.  The Pens are two points ahead of the Caps for fourth place in the East.
We're getting some weapons back tonight.

Know your enemy: Puckin' Eh

March will be a difficult battle for the Leafs, and their Western Conference opponents are not likely to make it any easier than their Eastern Conference ones. Any success the Leafs have will be dependent on consistent point production from Kessel, Kulemin, MacArthur and Grabovski. Only Florida, and the Islanders represent soft opponents, and other than that every opponent is either currently in a playoff position, or at most two points out of one. Awesome.

Season series: Penguins Lead 2-1
Last meeting: February 26, 2011 – Penguins Won 6-5 [SO]
What we said in our recap:

It was almost as if this game was a microcosm of the entire season. Every time it seemed the Pens were done, they refused to die. We know not to get all jammed up about games and shit, but we can't help but see this one being a game that will be remembered for a while. It was very similar to the 6-5 classic in Toronto so many years ago.

Penguins notes: Martin and Tyler Kennedy will be back tonight. Kunitz could be back this weekend. reunites.
