Gameday 60 – New York Rangers

New York Rangers (38-14-5) @ Pittsburgh Penguins (33-21-5)

7:00 pm/et

TV: ROOT, MSG

CONSOL Energy Center – Pittsburgh, PA

Game 60 already?

The Pittsburgh Penguins return home to face the Eastern Conference-leading New York Rangers. The Rangers are 7-2-1 in their last ten. Henrik Lundqvist leads the league in save percentage and shutouts.

Season Series: 1-2-0

Last meeting that counted: January 19, 2012. Penguins won 4-3.

What we said in our recap:

The Penguins played their best game in what seems like forever. Getting Kris Letang back, the Penguins used a total team effort to win in MSG. Any respect gained from 24/7 was wiped away quickly after realizing how douchey the Rangers are. Going into the game, the last time the Penguins won a game against a team not from the Southeast Division was December 20th. Last week at this time, you were looking into vacations around the second week of April. This week, you're back to talking yourself into this team making a run. NHL seasons. Nothing like them.

What they're saying:

Andrew Gross at the Bergen Record reports that Ruslan Fedotenko will be a game time decision tonight. He adds that Wojtek Wolski skated during the morning practice while Stu Bickel was with the defense again. Steve Zipay at Newsday notes that Wolski spoke with John Tortorella which usually indicates a player being scratched. Meaning Fedotenko is likely back tonight.

Pittsburgh Penguins Notes:

Brooks Orpik is out tonight.

Brent Johnson is sick.

Brad Theissen is up. So is Eric Tangradi.

New York Rangers Notes:

Henrick Lundqvist will be in net.

Rangers fans don't want Rick Nash.

John Tortorella on the Rangers.

This is definitely a big game. Like Dan Bylsma said, the Pens pretty much need a victory today if they hope to lead the Atlantic Division.

Do It.

Go Pens.
