Gameday 54 – Canadiens

Pittsburgh Penguins (30-19-4) @ Montreal Canadiens (20-24-9)

7:30 pm/et

Centre Bell, Montreal, QC

There are a few things that you can count on during games in Montreal: The crowd will be loud, the crowd will be annoying and the crowd will try to influence the game.

When Pittsburgh plays Montreal, there's also a good chance someone will get hurt.

The last time Montreal played Pittsburgh, Chris Kuntiz almost almost broke his leg. The last time the Penguins were in Montreal, Kris Letang almost lost his head.

The Penguins have defeated the Habs in all three meetings so far; once in regulation, once in overtime and once in a shootout. A series sweep would be nice.

Season Series: 3-0-0 Penguins.

Last meeting that counted: January 20, 2012. Penguins won 5-4.

What we said in our recap:

God damn it, this win felt amazing. The Habs being in town definitely had something to do with it, but the Pens roaring back from a 4-2 deficit with a fire that we haven't seen since that comeback loss in Carolina is what gets your blood going. You know what else gets your blood going? P.K. Slewban.

What they're saying:

The Habs face a shorthanded Penguins team who will be without Crosby, Staal and Asham tonight. The Habs will do well to keep bodies on Geno Malkin as he’s absolutely tearing apart the NHL right now, and burned them badly the last time these two clubs played.
