Dallas Stars (11-3-0) @ Pittsburgh Penguins (9-3-3)
TV: ROOT, NHLN-US
CONSOL Energy Center – Pittsburgh, PA
Does anyone even remember what Pittsburgh Penguins hockey is like anymore?
The Dallas Stars are no joke this season. They lead the league with 22 points in 14 games. They're led by Jamie Benn who has five goals and 13 assists. He's already being called the NHL's next star by some. Benn is part of the reason that James Neal became available last season. He's a solid player.
Speaking of the Neal trade, Alex Goligoski will be making his return to Pittsburgh tonight. It will be interesting to see what kind of reception he receives. We hope it's a positive one.
Season Series: 0-0-0
Last meeting that counted: November 3, 2010. Stars won 5-2.
What we said in our recap:
Even though we're sugar-coating this shit, it still wasn't a whole lot of fun watching the Stars pretty much dominate from start to finish. Not to mention that if you looked up in the sky around 9:30, you would've seen the Space Shuttle Johnson breaking apart as it came back to earth.

What they're saying:
Pittsburgh gets a lot of attention for their offense (well-deserved), but it's the defense that makes this team tick. The Pens rank 4th in the league in goals allowed and are the best in the NHL on the penalty-kill. They've only allowed three power-play goals the entire season (41 of 44) for a ridiculous 93% kill rate. They have yet to allow more than 4 goals in a game this season. Marc-Andre Fleury has been excellent for the Pens this season (8-2-1, 1.95 GAA and a .931 save percentage) and is the big reason for that stellar defense.
Pittsburgh Penguins Notes:
Tyler Kennedy won't be playing.
Here's a good piece on the Pens' Veterans Day Activities.
James Neal still follows the Stars.
Dallas Stars Notes:
Kari Lehtonen will be in net.
Remember Alex Goligoski? He's back, in Dallas Stars form.
The Stars "embarrassed" the Capitals on Tuesday.
