The assault on NBC Sports continues.
Thanks to Adam for the heads-up.
Can't really do much with it. It's automated.
Also, join the outdoor-screen movement on FACEBOOK.
Big Bob from [KISS FM
] sent this interesting stat along
NBC drew a 1.7 overnight rating for the Flyers' Game 3 win over the Penguins on Sunday, up a whopping 70% from a 1.0 for Flyers/Capitals in the same timeslot last year. The 1.7 overnight is the best for a non-Stanley Cup Finals playoff game since Game 5 of last year's Conference Finals between the same two teams, which also drew a 1.7 overnight.
NBC will say that is the reason they closed down the big screen,
but if you do the numbers, it doesn't make any sense at all.
CALL TO ARMS
We have a solid Pens fan contingent in the New York City area.
If anyone is up for jobbing the "Today" show with signs
about how NBC hates America and hockey fans, e-mail us.
After the jump, we have to acknowledge
the first time C-Blog has been under attack in a while.
Probably should actually talk about the Pens.
] had a nice little summary of crap.
Flyers C Mike Richards and Penguins C Evgeni Malkin are developing a nice rivalry. After the two got tied up with a little more than five minutes left in Game 3, Malkin gave Richards an unfriendly tap of the stick on the backside as Richards climbed onto the Flyers bench.
Richards laughed when he was asked if that struck him as unusual.
"Um, I'm not too sure," he said. "I didn't really feel it, to tell you the truth."
How big of a hard-ass is Mike Richards.
Too bad Malkin didn't drive his jag out on the ice and hit him.
::: Not to start jobbing our own, but some people on [LGP]
are starting to call for Satan over Sykora.
The internet never forgives.
Grandma's thoughts on the whole Satan over Sykora issue:
Satan played under Therrien's hand all year, was mud.
Disco comes in, Satan puts a couple home, gets demoted.
Apparently, some people are upset that Harry Kalas died.
People die every day.
You didn't know him personally.
If you did, you're lying.
It took us three clicks to find their website is a joke:
Here's the bio of their Flyers "beat writer":
"Chris will be buried in his Flyers jersey."
We won't even touch that one.
Because we have class.
We also received a couple e-mails from Flyers fans that didn't make any sense.
They are extremely vulgar.
What else would you expect from Flyers fans?
We would have plastered these in this post.
But we have standards.
Click at your own risk.
E-mails like that put a hop in your step.
By the way, you can find a .GIF of Kunitz's

A non-biased Avalance fan living in Philly sent this along:
I'm listening to WIP
last night and the host is going on and on about how well the Flyers played. A guest calls up and starts talking about how NHL refs are blind. The host responds with "The four minute penalty on Briere
was BS. It's a stupid rule and was absolutely BS."
The caller 100% agrees and talks for two minutes about why Biron was interfered with on the Pens goal.
The next caller wonders out loud whether or not the NHL "has it in" for the Flyers. The host says that the NHL is trying to send a message by calling penalties on the Flyers and that the fine on John Stevens was "ridiculous." The host basically said that the NHL is trying to say "Act like the Flyers, this is what happens."
If you're like us, you've been watching this SJ-ANA series
to see what Ryan Whitney is up to.
Are you secretly pulling for him just a little bit?
