Matt Cooke is suspended.
Alex Goligoski is back out.

The good news is that Jay McKee is back in the line-up.

In that same link Dan Bylsma sheds some light on tonight's line combinations:
The team will rotate with Bourque, Craig Adams and Mike Rupp on the third line with Jordan Staal and Tyler Kennedy. 

"We’ll see it by committee," head coach Dan Bylsma said. "Craig Adams, Chris Bourque, Rupper will see time there in that spot."


Sidney Crosby was named the NHL's first star for last week.

The Penguins haven't won a regular season game at MSG since March 1st, 2007.
They won that game 4-3 in a shootout.

Games at MSG since that date:
March 19th, 2007: 2-1 Rangers
November 8th, 2007: 4-2 Rangers
December 18th, 2007: 4-0 Rangers
March 18th, 2008: 5-2 Rangers
March 31st, 2008: 2-1 Rangers (OT)
October 25th, 2008: 3-2 Rangers (SO)
December 3rd, 2008: 3-2 Rangers (SO)
January 5th, 2009: 4-0 Rangers

Hopefully it's time to break that trend.






On Saturday we posted a video of the Pens beating the Rangers 10-4 in 1993.
Mario Lemieux had five goals in that game.

The Penguins went on to beat the Rangers 8-3 and Crosby had three goals and two assists.

So, tonight we're going to go with this game from Madison Square Garden on January 8th, 1990:


The Pens won that game 7-5.

Expanding on what Akus wrote above:

There's also Bailey's Pub & Grill inside the Ballston Mall in Arlington - they aren't specifically a Penguins bar, but they have Center Ice and will put on just about any game since they have a bunch of screens. And since Ballston Mall is also where the Caps practice facility is, the jobbing potential is quite high.

In Reston, I think Champp's (no misspelling) in Plaza America has Center Ice, but I am not positive about that. I'd at least find out if I were you before heading all the way in to Arlington or DC from Reston.

ESPNZone (I remember them showing hockey when I've been in there before) is on the corner of E & 11th downtown in DC (I think Metro Center is the nearest Metro stop).

By the way, I live in Oakton - so I'm not too far from you, Ev0luTioN.

It's been a bad period for Carolina's defense. Gleason goes down from that hit by the Great Ape and Joe Corvo left with a knee injury earlier in the first on a weird collision. That's their "shutdown" pairing.

It'll be more than one game, the way the play developed and the poor timing on how he was trying to hit Gleason was far worse than some of the other stuff people have pointed at. Gleason is back on the ice already, they're saying Ovechkin wouldn't return even without the game misconduct.
