It seems like everyone else has already talked about this, but we were too busy watching the Pens winning to notice until now.

"I think the game plan was, every time Alex touches the puck, that somebody run or hit him. That's what it looked like to me."

-- Bruce Boudreau
Quick! Someone alert the media! Targeting a star player is a great new way to play hockey!

It's a shame that no one on the Capitals ever thought of spending an entire game targeting the opposition's star:

But the worst part of this entire situation is that it made us have some respect for Ken Hitchcock.
"That would be correct," Hitchcock said. "That's the name of the game. Why, is that against the rules now?"

Thrashers goalie Kari Lehtonen will miss 6-8 weeks of action.

Former Penguin Jeff Taffe will play for the Panthers tonight.
He was just called up from the AHL.

Hockey Canada will name the men's Olympic team on New Years Eve, a day before the USA announces their team.

Michael Liambas of the OHL's Erie Otters was suspended for the entire season and playoffs for this hit:

We don't know much about the OHL but, based on NHL rulings, we assume that if Liambas was a star player he would have received only a small fine and been praised for his passion and leadership.
