Flyers opening Consol? — Probably Not. Also, Malkin speaks. Crosby-Reebok.

Best thing about not being a journalist?
Don’t have to post shit.
Penguins hockey consumes our lives every season,
just like it does every other fan.
But there’s no way in hell we are forcing ourselves
to look at Pens shit for our usual blogger-esque 2-4 hours a day.
Suck it.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Not faulting any other bloggers or Pens fans out there,
but it looks like a lot of people are jumping to conclusions about the first game at Consol.

Buried in an NHL press release were some particulars about next year’s schedule:

See that at the bottom?
Flyers and Penguins will be playing on opening night of the hockey season.
That’s all it says.
And then here comes this dude from some Philly paper:

Did Gary Bettman actually say this at a press conference?
If so, Bettman’s forgetting something:
The Flyers are in the Stanley Cup Finals.
So, if it’s already been “announced” that the Flyers will be playing opening night at Consol…
what happens if the Flyers win the Cup?
Does this mean the potential defending Cup winner will start the season on the road?
That makes zero sense.
Are we missing something?
