Tonight the Pens roll into Pittsburgh South with one goal in mind: Clinch a playoff spot.
If the Pens win tonight they can finish no worse than seventh in the East.
The Lightning have a million injuries.
Mike Smith, Andrej Meszaros, Paul Ranger, Marek Malik, Cory Murphy and Vincent Lecavalier are all out for the season.
Josef Melichar, Richard Petiot and Ryan Craig are questionable for tonight.
The Pens have
gone back to these lines for tonight's game:
Kunitz-Crosby-Guerin
Fedotenko-Malkin-Sykora
Cooke-Staal-Kennedy
Dupuis-Talbot-Godard
Orpik-Gonchar
Eaton-Letang
Gill-Scuderi
Fleury will be in goal.
It's a huge night in the NHL. 13 games on the schedule.
The Flyers and Habs could also clinch playoff spots tonight. The Flames and Devils could win their divisions.
Tickets to the first two Penguins playoff games are all
sold out.
"While Sidney Crosby was in the spotlight for his purported whining to referees several of his fellow Pittsburgh Penguins started hiding baby clothes and accessories under the superstar's locker. Marc-Andre Fleury admitted later than the Crosby was less than impressed with the prank."
Coming up with a gameday character for today was difficult.
We wanted someone who would display toughness, tenacity and a will to win.
At the same time we felt that person needed to hold a grudge against the Lightning for some reason.
It's a risk, but in order to succeed you need to take risks.
We spent the day scouring retirement homes until we found him.
Go Pens.
