Ryan Suter couldn’t cry his way out of being suspended. Looking back on last nights game this was the lone reaction from anyone of Steve Downie’s teammates: Gee, Adams don’t get so worked up. Save that for your own team. We’re beating a dead horse here. But just so we’re clear, no one was advocating […]
The Penguins have acquired forward Mark Arcobello off waivers from the Nashville Predators. Arcobello was traded to the Predators after years alternating between the NHL and AHL for the Edmonton Oilers. At 5’8, 166 pounds, Arcobello is a small-ish forward that has exhibited the scoring ability to make an a decent enough impact at the […]
“Hey Mike, will I get fired too?” The Wild are a disgrace. At no point was this game even close.
Via the Sportingnews: His full comments: “That was … I reached for the puck, and I kind of poked it, and then I went to put my hand (up on the stick) and he, like ran into … I hope he’s alright. Obviously, that’s not the type of player I am. It was kind of […]
Bob Errey was in between the benches during the Penguins/Wild game. In the third period, he took a stick to the stomach. Errey doesn’t seem phased. What in the world is Brian Engblom doing?
The Wild are just awful right now, and the Pens beat them up pretty good. 7-2 was the final, and the ice was titled for the entire game. The Pens got some goals from unusual sources, like Goc and Paul Martin Powerball, and Chris Kunitz finally made an appearance. Hoping to see more from him.
Minnesota Wild (18-18-5) at Pittsburgh Penguins (25-10-6) 7:00 PM – ROOT Sports CONSOL Energy Center – Pittsburgh, PA
Throughout the course of the year I’ve spent a lot of time in my articles noting the patience and puck support exhibited by the Penguins in their breakout. The game last week against the Bruins, as disappointing of a loss as it was, provided some excellent video that really exemplifies the specifics of the Penguins […]
http://gty.im/490367037 via the PG: Although the decision on that might not be finalized for a few days, a source familiar with his situation said the injury that has prevented Maatta from playing since Dec. 6 has not responded satisfactorily to rehabilitation efforts. We heard this back in December, but the Pens said late last […]
It’s been a really weird season thus far. The Penguins started fast, then got hurt, then hit a rough patch. Par for the course, we suppose. Over the past 4 or 5 years, we’ve started to save ourselves for the stretch run of the 82-game NHL season. We haven’t been overanalyzing bullshit games against the […]
http://gty.im/461303402 41 down. 41 to go. The Penguins pulled out an extra point on Montreal and got a much-needed win. A loss wouldn’t have been the end of the world, but there would have been some uneasy feelings. The season is kind of in a cruise-control state right now. Injuries and whatnot have limited everyone’s […]
Well, this was a long time coming. In overtime, and on the powerplay, Sidney Crosby finally got that goal he’s been looking for: Crosby got stronger as the game went on. He had supreme scoring chances in the third period, and even before his goal in overtime. His goal slump was beginning to become a […]
