Below, we've compared Crosby's current stats through 47 games with that same GP mark from the other seasons in his career.
* Stats are projected for 47 games.
Guaranteed no one would have guessed that year as his best unless the person knew he set his career-high points total of 130 in that season and made a quick deduction. Pretty sure Mark Recchi and Colby Armstrong were his linemates that year.
The main thing sticking out when looking at Crosby's career stats are the 48 power-play assists in 2006-2007. That comes out to 28 power-play assists in 47 games. He has 17 this year. No other season really comes close.
Crosby was on an absolute tear before the concussion in the Winter Classic, but it still wasn't a better pace than the Mark Recchi season. Got to love Crosby's goals and assists being nearly even, though.
What a run.
Crosby should easily be hovering in the mid-70s right now and matching or surpassing his pace from recent years, but Pascal Dupuis was having one of the worst seasons of his life and now Brian Gibbons is on Crosby's wing.
