QUICK CAP: Pens back in business with win

A great first step to getting into playoff hockey. Just a hard-fought win.

Columbus needed this game big-time. They’re still in the hunt for the playoffs, but every point helps them down the stretch. But the Pens pulled away with two quick goals in the third. Columbus scored a late goal to make it interesting, and MAF had to make a couple big saves late with six attackers.

3. Curtis McElhinney — Feels like we’ve given him a star in every Pens/Jackets game this year. Quietly solid.

2. Beau Bennett — Probably the best-looking Penguin on the ice. Scored the game-winner. Happy learned how to putt. Uh-oh.

1. Marc-Andre Fleury — He needed a win, and the Pens needed a win. And he got it for them.
