Pittsburgh Penguins @ Columbus Blue Jackets
Series Tied 1-1
Root Sports, NBCSN, FS-O, CBC, RDS2 – 7:00 pm/et
Nationwide Arena – Columbus, OH
If the Penguins lose this game, we hope that you have your underground bunker fully stocked. It’s okay though, because Chris Conner is back up.
Brian Gibbons did not skate today and is listed as “day-to-day.” Also, the power play will look different.
Penguins: Matt Niskanen (2G, 2A, 4P)
Blue Jackets: Jack Johnson (2G, 1A, 3P)
Likely Starting Goaltenders:
Penguins: Marc-Andre Fleury (1-1-0, 2.98 GAA, .911 Sv%)
Blue Jackets: Sergei Bobrovsky (1-1-0, 3.00 GAA, .905 Sv%)
What Happened in Game Two: Recap
“But the Pens simply couldn’t get their act together. And actually, when you add in Columbus’ shorthanded goal, the Pens’ 1-for-8 night was a wash. You got to think the Jackets are gonna clean up the penalties in Game 3, and they’ll be playing in front of a jacked crowd.
The Penguins, meanwhile, find themselves staring down the barrel of Hell.”

What They’re Saying: “Take Another Step Forward”
“All of that aside, the series shifts back to Columbus for the first time, and the Jackets will be hosting a playoff game for the first time in five years (Game 3 in 2009 was five year ago to the day). With a win in Pittsburgh under their belts–and having garnered it in pretty astounding fashion, I’d say–I don’t know that anyone really knows what to expect.
I don’t buy into the “oh, the Penguins aren’t trying!” meme that I’ve read about. If they didn’t get a wake-up call down 3-1 in game 1 and didn’t respect the Jackets at that point, well, let’s just say I don’t buy it. When I keep reading things about the Penguins not yet playing “their” game, I wonder why so many Penguins fans are quick to assume that the Jackets’ play has had nothing to do with that.”
Penguins Player(s) to Watch: Crosby and Malkin. They’ll need to step up.
Blue Jackets Player(s) to Watch: Jack Johnson. This series has been big for him.
