The Letang Contract held up

Rob Rossi with a late night piece on the Letang situation. [ trib ]

Framework of the potential deal's length (eight years) and finances ($58 million total) were agreed upon, but there was haggling over Letang's push for a verbal agreement the Penguins will not trade him next summer, multiple sources told the Tribune-Review.

This whole thing got a little weird throughout the day because, despite unlimited reports, there was no official announcement.
And no, it has nothing to do with the fact Letang can't officially sign until July 5th. ( Pens already announced the Malkin extension)

Three things.
1. Letang's agent may have blabbed about this. Which may piss the Pens off.
2. The frame work is in place so limited chance this falls through.
3. Shero was busy drafting, he already put the framework together, no need to rush shit. Letang shares agents with Vinny Lecavalier so he is probably busy too.

The contract as a whole makes sense for Letang, and is a good value for the Pens. It would be stunning to see it fall through on something like this.
