The NHL trade deadline is just under two weeks away, but the rumors are just starting to get going. One of the bigger names expected to be on the move come April 3rd is Flames captain Jarome Iginla, who according to Renaud Lavoie of RDS, has submitted a list of four teams he would accept a trade to.
Teams on the list:
Yes, we know the Pens probably don't need more offense, but still. Iginla would upgrade the Pens top six immediately. It is also worth noting that any team he goes to gets that upgrade. The Pens and Bruins are neck and neck in the east. They very well could end up facing each other.
The price for Iginla is said to be high, but really how high could it be? If you look back at bigger deals at the trade deadline, Hossa, Kovalchuk, etc. The prices aren't crippling. Also the Flames are a little backed into a corner now that the list if out. No one is going to overpay. But for the right price this deal could make sense for the Pens.
