Pittsburgh Penguins Gameday 43 – Montreal Canadiens

Montreal Canadiens (26-11-5) @ Pittsburgh Penguins (30-10-0)

ROOT, TSN, RDS – 7:00 pm/et

Consol Energy Center – Pittsburgh, PA

The Pittsburgh Penguins are in first place in the Eastern Conference. The Montreal Canadiens are in second. Seven points separate the two teams. The Pens could put some distance between themselves and their opponents with a win in a big game tonight. Tonight's game is also a "Student Rush" game.

Remember, every goal scored in this game tonight will be worth extra because they will be scored against a playoff team.

In all seriousness, we suggest that you switch your TV over to NBCSN or TSN2 just before 7:30 to catch the start of the Buffalo Sabres playing in Boston. It will be emotional.

Season Series: 2-0-0

Last meeting that counted: March 26, 2013. Penguins won 1-0.

What we said in our recap:

Montreal owned much of the game, but the Pens were able to take advantage of one mistake and buried the Habs.

To make matters worse, Letang was quoted as saying he was not 100% after the first and may have re-injured himself.

Know Your Enemy: All Habs

What they're saying:

In this final game of the season between both teams, Peter Budaj will get the start for the Canadiens after Michel Therrien decided Carey Price needs a mental rest.

The Penguins continue to excel this season, even without key players in the lineup like some guys I heard of called Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. Supposedly, they’re pretty good.

We understand the reasoning, but the top two lines for the Pens seem so bizarre.

Do It.

Go Pens.
