Pens Index: Big week ahead

The Penguins come limping into this week with a three-game losing streak. After starting out 7-1 against a ton of terrible hockey teams, the Pens faltered last week against some better teams. The Pens have four games this week, all against decent clubs:

Carolina – All of a sudden, Carolina has moved into second place in the Metro. Cam Ward is hurt, though.

Boston – First meeting since the beatdown in the Eastern Conference Finals. Boston is 7-3 and playing some good hockey.

Columbus – Home-and-home against the Blue Jackets this weekend should be fun. The Blue Jackets have been good of late, winning three of four.

Disappearance of the Week

Pascal Dupuis. Dupuis gets big minutes with 87, and he was nowhere to be found last week. 0 goals, no assists. Yikes.

Positive of the week

As the Trib points out, the Penguins are winning a ton of faceoffs. [ Trib ]

Through their first 11 games, the Penguins have won 55.5 percent of faceoffs. Only Nashville has won a higher percentage of draws.

Negative of the week

Brandon Sutter hasn't scored all season. Overall he has been really bad. Could have a lot to do with the Pens having no one good for him to play with, as well.
