According to pretty much everyone on Twitter who knows what they're talking about, the NHL is expected to announce more game cancellations this week. A lot more.
Darren Dreger says that he expects that a "much bigger block of regular season games will be postponed\cancelled this week."
According to Chris Botta, "NHL went easy with soft first cancellation of games. Had no impact. League will go big this week."
Joe Haggerty adds "Preparing for a month's worth of #NHL games to be cancelled this wk. Next cancellation after that could be one everybody dreads."
We assume that the "one everybody dreads" would be the Winter Classic, not the entire season. In the 2004/2005 lockout, the league didn't cancel the entire season until February. We doubt they'd cancel it earlier this time, but we don't know what we're talking about.
Of course, all of this could just be speculation but, to be safe, we'd make alternate plans until at least late November.
